Moovit attracts 500 million users worldwide and today launched a new feature – Bus on Map, showing in real time the location of the bus the user is waiting on the map. The new feature has been developed in light of thousands of application requests from users and the first to enjoy it today will be app users in Israel. Later, Feature will open to users in more countries around the world. To see the location of the bus on the map, the user of the app must open the “Line Details” screen or the LIVE navigation screen. These screens will show bus icons moving on the map, representing the real-time bus location and its pace. It is important to note that at this time the bus display on the map is only available on lines showing real-time arrival times based on the GPS component signal installed on the buses and trains of public transport companies.
In addition, Mobit announces another new feature – instant directions to preferred locations. Immediately after opening the app, tracks are instantly calculated and displayed to the user for their favorite destinations (home or work) without having to activate the route planning mechanism. For example, if the user is in a meeting in Tel Aviv and wants to get to his home in Holon, the moment he opens the app will have a ready-made route for his home that will include the line to take, the departure station, the line’s arrival time and the estimated time of arrival at his home.
Also, these days, Mobit notes crossing the app’s 500 million line of users on the various platforms available – Android, iOS and Web. Founded in 2011 by Nir Erez, Roy Bick and Yaron Evron, the company operates in more than 2,900 cities around the world, in 92 countries and can be used in 45 languages.
