Amazon’s entry into Israel will take place in the next two weeks, according to the company’s announcement to Israeli merchants asking them to be ready for the September 12 launch.
“Please prioritize your products or sales hits that you believe will sell well during the New Year,” the company wrote, which is estimated to have already gathered close to a hundred sellers, and maybe even more, for the official launch of the Israeli site.
It was estimated that Amazon waited until it reached a large number of Israeli merchants, to provide a range of products for the Israeli site. As of today and contrary to previous publications, Amazon will function as a sales platform rather than sell itself to the local products, and as a result, it has not opened a warehouse in Israel or established a dedicated site. However, the system will identify Israeli consumers, and accordingly, Israeli merchants will promote if they offer the product that consumers are looking for.
As mentioned, the company’s preparation at its peak and the company even added merchants recommendations on how to prepare for the launch of their Amazon store, which includes high quality product images as well as quality and real content, describing the product and detailing its features alongside recommending to deliver as fast as possible, and if possible – even for free.
