Everyone seems to be looking for a smart watch these days. Last night we reported that Apple is working hard to develop the iWatch along with a very large team , and now Samsung seems to be in the race. According to photos leaked apparently belonging to the system interface and presented on the SlashGear website , the Korean company is working on the watch development which will be called Galaxy Altius (Galaxy Altius).
The name suggests that the company plans for the watch to be from the Galaxy series, so it could be assumed to be an Android operating system, but in one of the screenshots the name is AltiusOS, so Samsung may have developed a dedicated system for the watch. The images show the interface coming at a resolution of 500 × 500, which may indicate the screen resolution on the watch but it is a fairly high resolution relative to the size of the watch, but not something Samsung is unable to do. The screen shots show a neat menu with big buttons for accessing music, mail, clock and maps as well as sub-menus that are all in Chinese.
The name “Altius” was already heard last month by a friend of the SamMobile website who says that the company’s flagship device is known by the name and will come in black and white when the launch date is expected in mid-April. It is unclear what the direct connection to the watch is, but the very fact that the name is repeated in rumors indicates the correctness of some of the things.
Feel free to take a look at the rest of the photos and try to guess for yourself what Samsung is planning for us.
